Kasumi Conversation 2, Rank 1 → 2 – Persona 5 Royal Faith Arcana That will boost your efficiency considerably. From then on, however, make sure to bring a Persona of the Faith Arcana. You’ll speak to Kasumi and unlock her as a Rank 1 Confidant without any trouble. None of your choices “matter” to your overall progress. The first conversation with Kasumi works like most of the others in Persona 5 Royal. Kasumi Conversation 1, Rank 0 → 1 – Persona 5 Royal Faith Arcana Note: “Phone call at Leblanc” means just that - as a reminder that these choices always still matter. It’s a lot of hoops to jump through, so be careful! Furthermore, you must complete Rank 5 before Jan. 
Otherwise the rest of her plot line won’t be available. More importantly, you must get Kasumi to Rank 4 before Dec. You can only go past Rank 5 starting after Dec.
You’ll notice early on that her Confidant level only goes to Rank 5 for much of the game. Kasumi has a couple quirks that differentiate her from most NPCs don’t, too. If you reply to her that way (or to any Confidant for that matter) Persona 5 Royal will waive the cost your train to the specified location. That means you need to spend a little cash to hang out with her - unless she sends you a text. Just to be safe, though, know that she usually hangs out at Kichijoji mostly on Wednesdays. You’ll meet her for the first time as part of the story. As such, you might not even know where or when to find her! That’s okay. Kasumi Yoshizawa is a new character and Confidant in Persona 5 Royal.

Despite not joining your party for dozens of hours, you actually gain access to her conversations pretty early in the game!
